| Bainbridge skipper Lou Boudreau isn't too worried about club's late-season skid. |
It's been an interesting September for Bainbridge Island to say the least. Between August 31 and September 19 they won 19 of 20 games, including a 14-game winning streak, to break open what had been, for most of the season, a pretty close race between themselves, Snoqualmie, and Renton. Immediately following the hot streak, Bainbridge Island lost four straight to Coast leader Aberdeen, which clinched that division yesterday, then split a series with Quincy and lost three of four at Moses Lake, so they've gone 3-9 over their last three series.
Bainbridge player/manager Lou Boudreau is not concerned about the slide, even though his club went 1-7 against other division-leading clubs.
The Westside matchup is set for the first round of the playoffs, in which Bainbridge Island will play Aberdeen in a best-of-seven series. The Bees presently have the inside track for home-field advantage there, with a record five games better than the A's. The Eastside divisions are still up for grabs, though Moses Lake and Goldendale have solid leads in their respective divisions.
